The following issues have been fixed since the previous release of this product:

Issue(s) Fixed in This Release

Citrix Online Plug In 11.2 Download

  1. Sessions among applications are shared even if different client audio settings are configured.

    [#206707]

  2. When the plug-in connects over SSL, wfica32.exe can exit unexpectedly.

    [#207751]

  3. When the EMF printer debug flag on the client is enabled (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareCitrixICA ClientPrintDebugFlagsEMF), large print jobs can cause the Citrix Print Viewer process (cpviewer.exe) to exit unexpectedly.

    [#212611]

  4. The Web Interface Special folder redirection option does not work if the My documents folder was redirected.

    [#214070]

  5. When trying to print from a published application in a pass-through session from a Win CE client, wfica32.exe can exit unexpectedly.

    [#214926]

  6. Smart card authentication does not work for CAC smart cards with the online plug-in. The issue occurs because XenApp uses the default certificate for authentication when there are multiple certificates available; the default certificate might not be the proper certificate for use with CAC smart cards. With this fix, a dialog box listing all available certificates will be presented for the user to select from. To enable this feature, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixProgram Neighborhood Agent
    Name: SmartCardCertDlgShow
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [#215191]

  7. In multiple monitor setups, after moving the local Windows Taskbar to the secondary monitor and maximizing a virtual desktop session across both monitors, clicking the Desktop Viewer toolbar activates the local Windows Taskbar on top of the virtual desktop session.

    [#221258]

  8. The Wfica32.exe process running on the client device can exit unexpectedly while opening a Web application inside a virtual desktop session. As a result, the session is disconnected. Attempts to reconnect to the session and open the Web application succeed.

    [#223267]

  9. With version 11.2 of the online plug-in, users with roaming profiles can receive the following error message: 'Failed to set event logging.'

    [#224118]

  10. Setting the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixICA ClientEngineLockdown ProfilesAll RegionsLockdownNetworkProxyProxyType to 'None' does not prevent the online plug-in from attempting to use the proxy settings configured through Internet Explorer.

    [#224145]

  11. The certificate selection dialog box can appear behind the session window, giving users the impression that the session is unresponsive and fails to start.

    [#224251]

  12. This fix addresses the following issues with Version 11.2 of the online plug-in:

    • When refreshing applications, desktop shortcuts are deleted one by one and redrawn at a very slow pace
    • When Remove Citrix XenApp shortcuts is enabled at the Web Interface site, the users' Desktop folder is deleted upon logoff

    [#225427]

  13. After switching a session from seamless to windowed mode and then maximizing client window, the session window fails to fully maximize.

    [#225985]

  14. After applying Hotfix Rollup Pack 5 for XenApp 5, font sizes might not be reflected properly in sessions. To resolve the issue in its entirety, you must also deploy Hotfix Rollup Pack 6 for XenApp 5.

    [#226307]

  15. When installed along with other XenApp Server components on the same computer, the handle count of the PNAMain.exe process can increase steadily.

    [#226689]

  16. When Internet Explorer is set to offline mode, the online plug-in fails to connect. The plug-in needs to connect to the server to retrieve the configuration file. This enhancement introduces a message dialog that asks the user permission to go online. If the user selects Stay Offline, an error message appears.

    [#226806]

  17. After upgrading to Version 11.2 of the ICO SDK, a specific application that uses a customized virtual channel becomes unresponsive.

    [#226892]

  18. With SmoothRoaming enabled, users must relaunch XenApp sessions to reenumerate and update session printers after roaming to a different location. This feature enhancement introduces dynamic printer discovery to automatically reenumerate and update XenApp session printers after roaming to a different location so that relaunching of XenApp sessions is no longer necessary. To enable this enhancement, you must also deploy a server hotfix that includes Fix #226929.

    [#226929]

  19. Using the universal printer driver, printing fails when the printer name contains single or double quotes (',').

    [#227197]

  20. Certain Asian-language double-byte characters fail to render when typed in a command line window within a virtual desktop session.

    [#227500]

  21. The plug-in can become unresponsive after the client device returns from hibernation or standby modes.

    [#227841]

  22. Ssonsvr.exe fails to load on 64-bit systems if the online plug-in is installed using the following command:

    CitrixOnlinePlugInFull.exe ADDLOCAL='ICA_Client,SSON,Flash,USB,DesktopViewer' ENABLE_SSON='Yes' ENABLE_DYNAMIC_CLIENT_NAME='Yes'

    [#228271]

  23. If the File Access option (Citrix Desktop Viewer > Preferences) is set to Prompt clicking any option button on the Desktop Viewer toolbar while the File Security dialog box is open causes the session to become unresponsive.

    [#228742]

  24. Attempts to print IBM Cognos reports using the Universal Printer Driver can fail.

    [#229201]

  25. Single sign-on can fail on systems where the Novell Client is installed. The issue occurs because the Web interface uses Novell Directory Server credentials as the single sign-on credentials when, in fact, Active Domain credentials are required, even if Use Novell Directory Server credentials under Local Group Policy > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Citrix Components > Citrix online plug-in > User authentication > Local username and password is cleared.

    [#229865]

  26. Sessions cannot be initialized from devices with Microsoft NetMeeting installed if the Desktop toolbar is maximized.

    [#230029]

  27. This enhancement to the TWAIN redirection feature introduces support for file transfer mode. File transfer mode is used by certain TWAIN applications to transfer scanned files from the client device to the server for processing. This is the client-side component of the enhancement. To enable the enhancement in its entirety, you must also deploy a server hotfix that contains Fix #230466.

    [#230466]

  28. This change adds additional CDF tracing messages for proxy-related plug-in components.

    [#230474]

  29. The first Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock state change that occurs within a published application is disregarded by the plug-in, causing the state of those keys to be out of sync between the client and the host.

    [#230813]

  30. With HDX MediaStream for Flash enabled, YouTube video fails to render in published applications and virtual desktop sessions. This is the client-side fix that corrects the issue. To resolve the issue in its entirety, you must also install Hotfix XDE400VDAWX86002 or XDE400VDAWX64002 on Virtual Desktop Agents running on Windows XP (required). For Virtual Desktop Agents running on any other operating systems, these hotfixes are recommended.

    [#231228]

  31. Setting the client display (Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > General > DPI setting) to Large size (120 DPI) causes the button labels on the Desktop Viewer toolbar not to fit the toolbar.

    [#231368]

  32. Shadow sessions launched from published instances of the Delivery Services Console do not have title bars or scroll bars.

    [#231576]

  33. Ctrl-clicking and Shift-clicking to select multiple items in Windows Explorer intermittently fails in virtual desktop sessions.

    [#231602]

  34. Session windows hosted by the Citrix Desktop Viewer can become unresponsive when creating multiple sessions in a short amount time.

    [#231700]

  35. wfica32.exe might get initialized within a desktop session during disconnect or logoff of a pass-through session. This can cause the session to reconnect to itself and in the process lock out the user. This fix requires you to install both a server and a client-side hotfix that contains Fix #231831. If, after applying both hotfixes, you continue to observe the issue, create the following server-side registry key to resolve the issue:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECitrixICA Client
    Name: CheckWfShellForPassThru
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 1

    [#231831]

  36. After upgrading to Version 12.0 of the plug-in, application launches through Secure Gateway or Access Gateway can fail.

    [#232136]

  37. This fix modifies the Korean translation of the 'Home Desktop' icon title on the Desktop Viewer toolbar to be more specific.

    [#232198]

  38. When a Web page issues multiple video streams, each stream produces its own ActiveMovie/DirectShow window. This can result in multiple, empty video windows on the client screen.

    [#232284]

  39. After upgrading to Version 11.2 of the plug-in, published applications embedded in HTML do not automatically take focus after launching.

    [#232376]

  40. Credentials pass-through (with Kerberos disabled) fails when launching a session from a Web Interface site or ICA file and using Version 12.0 of the plug-in.

Credentials pass-through requires the following configurations:

    • Enable 'Local User name and password' and 'pass-through authentication' on the client device via a Group Policy as described in Knowledge Center article CTX113004. In the absence of the GPO setting, credentials pass-through is not available.
    • Add the Citrix server's site address to the Local intranet or Trusted sites zones in the Internet security options of the client device. The address may include wildcards (*) or be as specific as <protocol>://<URL>[:<port>].
      • For Web Interface launches, add the exact address of the Web Interface site. Examples: https://my.company.com; http://10.20.30.40, http://server-hostname:8080 https://SSL-relay:444.
      • If connecting to XenDesktop using Desktop Viewer, add: desktop://<Desktop Group Name>. If the desktop group name contains spaces, replace each with '-20'.
      • For launches using a custom ICA file, use one of the following formats for the Citrix server's site address when adding it to the Local Intranet or Trusted sites zones in the Internet security options on the client device:
Example, if the ICA file contains an 'HttpBrowserAddress,' make the following entry:
        XMLBroker.XenappServer.example.com:8080
Example, if the ICA file contains only the XenApp Server 'Address' field, make the applicable entry:
        icas://10.20.30.40:1494 or icas://my.xenapp-server.company.com or ica://10.20.30.40
    • On devices where any of Versions 12.0, 12.0.1, or 12.0.2 of the online plug-in is or was at some point installed (including applying CTX124871), delete the 'HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareCitrixICA ClientClient Selective Trust' registry key for each user. This requirement also applies to devices where Knowledge Center article CTX124871 was applied.

    [#232383]

  41. Disabling short file names by setting HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlFileSystemNtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation=1 can cause sessions to fail to launch.

    [#232452]

  42. Seamless published toolbar menus can take focus from local applications. Editing the following registry key on the client prevents the issue.

Note: If a value already exists in this field, you must use 'or' to use this value along with any existing values.

    On 32-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareCitrixICA ClientEngineConfigurationAdvancedModulesWFClient
    Name: TWISeamlessFlag
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: 8

    On 64-bit Windows:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareWow6432NodeCitrixICA ClientEngineConfigurationAdvancedModulesWFClient
    Name: TWISeamlessFlag
    Type: REG_SZ
    Data: 8

    [#232594]

  43. The Alt+Tab key combination can intermittently be sent to the local desktop instead of the virtual desktop session.

    [#232755]

  44. In Web interface and Dazzle scenarios, session sharing fails when a Client Selective Trust is created. This happens when a remote application or device invokes the File Security dialog box asking permission to access the client device and the user selects 'Do not ask me again for this site.'

    [#232809]

  45. Pressing Alt+Tab in Microsoft Office Excel fails to advance to the next application window; instead, users have to press Alt+Tab twice to advance to the next window. The issue occurs in sessions running on Windows XP Virtual Desktop Agents.

    [#233249]

  46. Clicking the Desktop Viewer toolbar or the Preferences menu causes the topmost window to loose mouse and keyboard focus.

    [#233250]

  47. YouTube.com and other Web and intranet sites require server-side cookies in order to render Flash content. In the absence of those server-side cookies, Flash content from such Web sites fails to render in published applications and virtual desktop sessions using client-side rendering. While Fix #231228 addresses this issue by enabling synchronization and parsing of the client-side HTTP cookies with the server-side, it does so specifically and explicitly for YouTube.com but not for other Web sites.

This enhancement extends Fix #231228 beyond Youtube and lets you specify any Web sites that might continue to experience the issue after you apply Fix #231228. To enable this enhancement:

    1. Using Group Policy Editor, load the new HdxFlash-Client.adm file (included) to the Administrative Templates on the user device.
    2. Enable both the older 'Enable synchronization of the client-side HTTP cookies with the server-side' and the new 'Enable advanced synchronization of HTTP cookies' policies.
    3. In the 'Enable advanced synchronization of HTTP cookies' policy, specify the sites for which you want to perform cookie synchronization and parsing. For example, specify website.com. Use an asterisk (*) as a wild card for any number of characters. For example, append an asterisk to website.com (website.com*) to synchronize and parse cookies for all URLs of website.com. Use an asterisk as a prefix to website.com (*website.com) to support all protocols (http; https,...).

    [#233702]

  48. Attempts to print files with file names that exceed 215 characters fail.

    [#233877]

  49. When running the plug-in in kiosk mode, the wfica32.exe process exits unexpectedly when exiting a published application.

    [#234100]

  50. wfica32.exe can cause Version 12.0 of the online plug-in to exit unexpectedly during session shadowing.

    [#234684]

  51. TWAIN redirection does not work when the scanning application requests JPEG compression from the scanner. The issue occurs because buffered memory transfer inadvertently fails to send the image when compression is done by the scanner.

    [#234850]

  52. In multiple monitor configurations where there is a 'gray area' in the top left area, Flash content is displayed shifted or not at all.

    [#234999]

  53. Using Version 12 of the online-plug-in, after logging off from a Version 3.1 Virtual Desktop Agent, the Citrix Desktop Viewer disaplys a still image of the virtual desktop logging off even after the logoff completes.

    [#235590]

  54. Version 11.2 and later of the online plug-in introduces a new but unintended default behavior for launching .ica files: With Version 11.2 and later, launching an .ica file multiple times initiates a separate session for each .ica file launch. This fix reverts to the earlier default behavior to where launching an .ica file multiple times does not create multiple sessions but brings the existing session launched through the file into focus.

    [#235627]

  55. With Windows Media Redirection enabled, the audio portion of .wmv files can fail to play back.

    [#235665]

  56. In virtual desktop sessions, the Shift key can remain in a pressed (down) state even when it is released. The issue disappears when pressing the key again or reconnecting to the session.

    [#235823]

  57. Pressing the Shift+F2 key combination to restore a published desktop session to full screen mode fails. Further, the Full screen menu item is not present in the Resize session menu.

    [#236025]

  58. The Microsoft IME language bar can be positioned inconsistently in virtual desktop sessions. Specifically, it might span the session window when it should not, or be unavailable to specific applications.

    [#236035]

  59. If the Windows Internet Explorer setting 'Do not save encrypted pages to disk' is enabled on a workstation or a pass-through server, sessions fail to launch from the Web Interface. Instead, Internet Explorer prompts the user to save the file locally and, based on the oprating system, the following error message might appear: 'Cannot copy file: cannot read from the source file or disk.' No error message appears on Windows 7 and on Windows Server 2008 and the file is not saved.

    [#236181]

  60. After logging off from a virtual desktop session, using the IME bar to toggle among languages can fail intermittently. The issues occurs because HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelInput MethodHot Keys is deleted intermittently at logoff.

    [#236385]

  61. Attempts to print to certain printers using the Citrix Universal XPS Printer driver can cause both ctxprn.dll (on the server) and vdspl30n.dll (on the client) to exit unexpectedly. To resolve the issue in its entirety, you must install both a server and a plug-in hotfix containing Fix #236481.

    [#236481]

  62. This fix addresses a security vulnerability. For more information, see Knowledge Center article CTX123359.

    [#236530]

  63. In multiple monitor environments configured to require the user to reauthenticate to the client after the screen saver appears, the desktop window placement can be misaligned after the user reauthenticates.

    [#236602]

  64. After switching from a full-screen virtual desktop session to the endpoint device using the Desktop Viewer, the local Microsoft IME language bar might no longer be available.

    [#236747]

  65. Attempts to launch links from the Web Sites and File Shares panes of the Access Interface of Access Gateway 5.0 can fail with Version 12.x of the online plug-in. The issue occurs because Access Gateway embeds the ICA file text encoding information as part of the HTTP response. The plug-in does not register all of the MIME type encoding variants for launch critical components. Without the proper registrations in place, the ICA launches fail.

    [#236847]

  66. In multiple monitor environments, minimizing the ICA session when reconnecting to a published desktop session can cause applications running on the published desktop to span all monitors.

    [#236972]

  67. A custom application becomes unresponsive when you connect with client Version 11.2 or later and open a particular window of the application.

    [#237451]

  68. Using the Desktop Viewer, attempts to switch from a full-screen virtual desktop session to a second, windowed virtual desktop session by clicking its thumbnail fail.

    [#237466]

  69. Printing can fail for XenApp published applications in XenDesktop virtual desktop pass-through sessions.

    [#238498]

  70. The plug-in fails to connect when HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareCitrixICA ClientEngineLockdown ProfilesAll RegionsLockdownNetworkProxyProxyUseFQDN = TRUE and a proxy server is not available when the connection attempt is made. The issue occurs because the plug-in looks to the proxy server for name resolution; when the proxy server is unavailable, no name resolution is done and the connection attempt fails. With this fix, the plug-in attempts to perform name resolution itself when the proxy server is unavailable.

    [#239412]

  71. After downloading and installing a plug-in, disconnected sessions might automatically reconnect. However, they do so in full-screen mode and without the Desktop Viewer, HDX Plug-n-Play for USB Storage Devices, and HDX MediaStream for Flash features available. The issue occurs because the plug-in installation is mistaken for complete after the core plug-in installs but before the those features are installed.

    [#239619]

  72. Attempts to launch links from the Web Sites and File Shares panes of the Access interface of Access Gateway Advanced Edition 4.5 can fail with Version 12.x of the online plug-in.

    [#240207]
